The Family Commission of the Gozo Diocese will be hosting its annual conference next Saturday, the 26th of January.
The subject of the conference for this year is ‘iz-zwieg storja gkida?’
The keynote speaker on this subject will be Rev. Dr Paul Galea B.S.Th.,M.S.Th.,Lic.Psych.(Greg.),Ph.D.(Loyola).
Following his Master’s degree in Pastoral Theology (1979), Paul Galea continued his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy, from where he obtained the Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (1981) and a Licentiate in Psychology (1982) with a thesis: “Treating Husband and Wife: Analysis of Contemporary Approaches in Marital Therapy.”
In 1992 he started a Ph.D. degree in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. This was accompanied by a two year internship at the Towson State University Counseling Center in Baltimore, Maryland and one year as trainee at the Sexual Behavior Consultation Unit in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. USA.
Rev. Dr Paul Galea graduated in 1996 with a dissertation: Development and Validation of the Commitment to Partnership Scale: Applying Psychological Constructs to Pastoral Issues in Marriage.” Since 1996 he has been Senior Lecturer in Pastoral Counseling, in the Faculty of Theology, University of Malta and a Lecturer in Psychology in the Department of Psychology. He has been Head of Department of Pastoral Theology since 2000, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Member of the University Senate since 2001.
The conference will take place at Villa Fiorita, on the outskirts of Marsalforn, between 5pm and 8pm, with registration at 4.30pm.
The general public is invited to attend.
Rev Dr Paul Galia spend a lot of time to learn all this Psychology and Theology.
It would be much better if REV. Dr Paul Galia will talk about what the Gozo Church is doing to the livelihood of the Nadur farmers, instead of Pastorals that the Head of Church wroth for the Sunday Masses, which for many people means nothing accept !!!!!!!!!.

Surely you have heard how the Nadur farmers those at Ghajn Qasab were treated when a cemetery was dumped on their aquifer with the consequence that their water might be contaminated .This happened when one of their main supply came milky when it rained because cement was laid for the foundation of the cemetery
