Former Gozo Ministry official given suspended sentence

A former senior official at the Ministry of Gozo, was condemned to a 15-month jail term suspended for two years at a court hearing held today.
Mario Camilleri was found guilty of falsifying another person’s school-leaving certificate.
The court said that the accused had altered the school-leaving certificate of Raphael Asciak to enable him to qualify for work as a Principal Security Officer at the Gozo General Hospital.
Magistrate Josette Demicoli presided the court and Inspector Angelo Gafa’ prosecuted.
