Last Saturday, the Parliamentary Secretary for Public Dialogue and Information, Chris Said, addressed a number of participants who are about to start on a project called ‘Learnweb’, which is a free course on how to to utilise the internet, provided by IT Company TCTC, with the help of Vodafone Malta and Local Gozo Councils.
Firstly the Parliamentary Secretary thanked Mr Ray Abela, Managing Director of TCTC and Mr. Joseph Cuschieri, CEO of Vodafone for their support. He then emphasised that in todays world, it is important for everyone to learn how to use modern technology, not only young people and students, but also parents and older people.
Those participating in the Learnweb project will learn all about the internet, what it is and how to utilise it for communication, such as with emails.
The course will provide both tuition and practice for the students, with qualified teachers from TCTC, who will provide instruction on how to carry out research, downloads and a variety of other internet related tasks.
