The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, presided over the signing of an agreement between the Ministry, the Gozo Football Association and the Malta Council for Sports. It was agreed that the Ministry for Gozo will construct and furnish the premisies to be used by the Malta Council for Spots in Gozo.

The Ministry said that sports in Gozo have always been supported by the Ministry, in fact this agreement is not the first of its type because many other principles linked to various disciplines were given assistance in some way or another.

The Ministry for Gozo said it believes that today sports are a necessity, not only for the benefit of physical health but for other important reasons, amongst which are the psychological aspect and the enhancement of values in our society.
