Despite the cold weather yesterday afternoon, the Carnival spirit continued to flow in Gozo, with activities taking place around the island.
The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono and the Minister for Justice, Dialogue and the Family, Chris Said were present for the programme held in Independence Square in Victoria.
In Nadur the Spontaneous Carnival welcomed people from all over the island, as well as Malta, with the satirical, ironical, macabre, funny, entertaining, spontaneous, wicked, jovial, folkloristic, pungent, allegorical, sneaky, trendy, heavy, truthful.. you name it!!!!
The Nadur Local Council said that it “is all about what the people are feeling, thinking and dealing with in their everyday life!”
This year’s Carnival organised programme concludes on Tuesday with a Gran Finale along Republic Street, Victoria starting at 6.00pm, with the participation of dance companies, floats, grotesque masks and local bands along Republic Street, followed by a Carnival Show in the Carnival Enclosure in Independence Square, Victoria. Entrance to the enclosure will be free.
