Air Malta has announced that it will again operate weekly charter flights this summer, between May and October, to/from seven regional airports in the UK. In line with demand and operations in previous years.

The airline will operate charter flights to/from Birmingham and Cardiff with two flights every week on Tuesdays and Fridays, and weekly flights on Tuesdays to/from Bristol, Exeter, Newcastle, Norwich and Glasgow airports.

Air Malta said that these charter flights increase accessibility to the islands from regional UK airports and thus offer travellers the opportunity to travel out and back from their nearest home airport. Furthermore, such flights also attract the interest of the Maltese traveller to visit family and friends in various cities in the United Kingdom.

The operation of such regional services was made possible thanks to the support received from tour operators and travel trade partners in the areas.

Commenting on these services, Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer said, “Air Malta is building on its position in the UK as a leader in the market to Malta. Our summer charter operations further confirms the airline’s commitment to boost incoming tourism to Malta from the UK, and to bring Malta closer to UK regional airports. These flights also make it much easier for the Maltese market to visit British regions.”

Air Malta operates such charter services as a supplement to the regular scheduled services to/from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, and likewise offers 20kgs for checked in baggage and up to 10Kgs as hand luggage allowance for each passenger.

Seats are available also for sale via the airline’s portal www.airmalta.com and via the international Call- Centre on 00356 21 66 22 11.

Why oh Why have you ceased the Stansted flights? Market research would show that there are hundreds of people in East Anglia who would holiday in Malta if there were flights from Stansted. Norwich is too isolated and a journey round the M25 to Heathrow or Gatwick is impractible. traffic wise. Ryanair are going to jump in and take your business if you are not careful, but you provide a better service at a better rate taking into account all their add-ons. Stansted will become the Airport of the next decade. Jump in now !!!

the flights as they are arrive in malta too late for the gozo ferrys,
perhaps this is something the GTA should campaign for.

Our nearest Airports are Robin Hood, Doncaster and Leeds/Bradford, both one hour and a half away from us in the East of Yorkshire. It would be nice to have an Air Malta Service from this side of the country instead of Air Malta concentrating on the south of the Country. The Schedule service is just too far away, Manchester 2 and a half hours, Glasgow, 3 hours and Heathrow 4 hours. Come on Air Malta give us a service please.
