The Minister for the Environment, Leo Brincat had a meeting today with the Nature Trust Council. He spoke about the separation of the planning and environment functions of MEPA, saying that it was a delicate matter and should not be rushed through.
The Minister when asked about hunting by jounalists who were present at the meeting, said that it will follow what was proposed in the electoral manifesto and will adhere strictly to the EU laws.
Minister Brincat said that an Environment fund for NGOs will also be set up, as well as further proposals that will ensure “the voice of such organisations is strengthened.”
