A Gozitan a Missionary Priest, Fr. Anthony Zammit is aiming to raise funds towards the building of a respite centre and one school classroom for disable people in Santa Rosa, Peru.
Fr. Anthony spends much of his time in Santa Rosa, Peru having served more than 10 years as a Hospital Chaplain at the Gozo General Hospital.
He was instrumental for the building of a retreat house in Arequipa and is building a Church and a multifunction hall in Santa Rosa in the Selva of Peru.
In 2012 the High School ‘Colegio Anthony Zammit’ was opened and those who are there said that it has made a huge difference to the young people of that area.
Fr. Anthony is now back to spend some time in Gozo and this coming Sunday, the 24th of March he is going to make a sponsored, 4200 metre skydive. Fr. Anthony admits that at his age of 57 it’s a very daring thing to do, but he says that the children of Santa Rosa are “praying for his safe landing.”
