An art exhibition by ceramist George Muscat entitled ‘Forces,’ is currently being held at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta. It is the artist’s seventh solo event and includes a total of 48 ceramic works.

The exhibition, which is sponsored by FIMBank, is open to the public until the 7th of April and was inaugurated by established Maltese artist Vince Briffa, who is also the Head of Department of Digital Arts at the University of Malta.

With the infusion of colours and complex designs, Qormi-born Muscat aims to “create a world that recalls the mysteries of the environment around us.” He has exhibited in solo and collective exhibitions since 1997, both locally and abroad. Muscat is also a part-time lecturer at MCAST where he works with young artists, as well as giving evening courses to mature students both in ceramics and raku techniques.

Commenting on FIMBank’s sponsorship of the exhibition, the Bank’s President, Ms Margrith Lütschg-Emmenegger, stated that the Malta-based trade finance institution was proud to be associated with a local artist who has been making a name for himself and for Malta. “Art critics have lauded George Muscat as one of the most talented ceramic sculptors in Malta, and we are happy to contribute towards the setting up of an exhibition which showcases his latest works to an increasingly appreciative public.”
