Staff of the Gozo General Hospital were on hand yesterday at the annual Health Awareness Day which was hosted by the Arkadia Commercial Centre in Victoria.

Many of the customers who popped into Arkadia also took the opportunity to get a free health check and consultation. The free medical services provided included included BMI recording, blood pressure reading, blood glucose testing and intracular pressure reading, as well as guidance on dental care.

Members of the National Blood Unit organised a blood donation drive during the same event and proved to be a huge success, with the registration of 39 donors who donated blood.

Arkadia Commercial Centre also welcomed the new Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo. The honourable minister visited Arkadia to meet staff attending the health awareness day and thanked them for their initiative.
