This week’s articles in the PDF download are:
1. An exhibition of Passion statuettes by the Ghaqda Dilettanti Gimgha l-Kbira (Gozo) was recently set up in St Anthony Hall at the Franciscan Conventual Convent in Victoria. The exhibition, inaugurated and blessed by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, included works by Jamie Camilleri, George Farrugia, Lino Fardell, Joe Cutajar Zahra, Wistin Camilleri, Manuel Buhagiar, Lorry Gatt and Kurt Cassar. George Cassar also exhibited a number of philatelic cards featuring Passion events.
2. The restored niche of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Kercem was recently inaugurated. The niche was set up in 1837 as a thanksgiving to Our Lady after the locals were spared from the cholera deluge affecting Gozo during that period.
A replica of an old water spring by Joe Spiteri of Kercem was also unveiled during the event. The spring stands near the niche.
3. Frankie Cassar, known as Iz-Zejtuni, is restoring the statue of San Gorg tal-Hagar after it was vandalised. The stone statue by Guzeppi Agius, Il-Brejbex, dates back to 1925.
