Concluding the Evening Mass on Easter Sunday at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, Gozo, Fr Gerard Buhagiar, Rector, blessed a copy of the painting of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, which was passed on to volunteers of Fondazzjoni Puttinu Cares, to be placed in its new apartments in Sutton, England.

At the end of the week, these volunteers will travel to the UK, taking the image with them. A small picture of the face of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu will find its place in each and every room of the new building built for cancer patients and their relatives.

Before the blessing, the Rector said that many families visit the Sanctuary to pray for Our Lady’s intercession before leaving our shores to accompany their relatives for medical treatment in England. Now the Sanctuary is offering this image to encourage patients not to lose heart and feel the Virgin Mary’s protection as they pass through hard moments in their life.

Fr Buhagiar encouraged those present to accompany with their prayers to the Heavenly Mother the cancer patients and volunteers of Fondazzjoni Puttinu Cares who work incessantly to help these persons.

“Let us always pray: ‘Madonna Ta’ Pinu, Sultana tal-Familja, harstek fuqna dejjem zomm'” (“Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, Queen of the Family, keep your gaze on us always”), concluded the Rector.
