Arriva said that it would like to clarify the facts that led to reports of an incident aboard an Arriva bus involving a passenger and an Inspector.

“From initial investigation of the CCTV footage it results that a passenger was asked to present his ticket by an Arriva Inspector. There seems to have been some form of disagreement between the two and the bus was brought to a stop while telephone calls were made to the Inspector’s superior and the Police, following allegations of aggressiveness from the passenger.”

Arriva said that CCTV footage shows that there was no physical contact between the two parties at any point. The passenger got off the bus of his own accord after being asked to leave.

An internal investigation is being made into the reported in the events.
