Last Sunday, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps of Gozo organised a multiple casualty training simulation near Hondoq Bay in Qala.
During the training, ERRC volunteers made use of search and rescue techniques to search for a number of dispersed casualties and carry them to a triage area.
Some of the casualties had to be lifted along a cliff using rope rescue techniques using spine boards and basket stretcher.

Emergency Response & Rescue Corps are an NGO with over 90 active volunteers, including many young Cadets who are still at school.
The volunteers give up their free time in the evenings and weekends to train and to be ready when called upon, to help others in our community.
The ERRC are a fine organisation and one of which we should all be proud of; the last government didn’t think so, let’s hope the new government feels differently and gives the financial support that the ERRC desperately needs.
