Update: David Zerafa has been given a life sentence after he was today found guilty of murdering Gozitan lawyer Michael Grech in 2004.

The sentence was given this evening, following a guilty verdict given by the jurors earlier this afternoon, with a verdict of 8 votes to one on three indictments. The jury took almost six hours to reach their verdict.

Zerafa, aged 39, from Nadur had pleaded not guilty to killing lawyer Michael Grech in May 2004 outside his residence in Marsalforn.

Michael Grech had been shot in the neck and hit on the head.
