The preliminary round of the BOV Water Polo Knockout competitions saw Ta’ Xbiex beat Otters 18-11 to earn their spot in the Final four in the BOV Waterpolo First Division League.

In the Premier League, Sliema were superior to San Giljan where they beat them with a six goal margin to book their berth in the semifinals of the BOV Water Polo Premier League Knockout. The final score between Sliema and San Giljan was 12-6.

Following these preliminary round matches, Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta and Joe Caruana Curran, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta drew the fixtures for the BOV Water Polo Knockout Competitions.
