The Armed Forces of Malta said that earlier today at around 0308ams, AFM Patrol Boat P22 intercepted a 14 meter boat with 102 persons on board 1.5 miles from Delimara Point.

The intercepted boat was escorted to the AFM Maritime Squadron where the migrants, among whom 41 women and 2 babies, were disembarked at around 6.00am.

Assistance was provided on site by the medical teams and the immigration police.
