Our Lady of Victories Feast celebrated by Xaghra Parish came to an end on Sunday evening.
There was a Pontifical procession with the statue of the Maria Bambina around the main streets of Xaghra, with the participation of WR Collegiate Chapter and Clergy of the Parish led by Mgr. Bishop Joe Bonello OFM.
During the procession, the Leone Band of Victoria played a musical programme on the Victory Square stand.
In a tribute to ‘Our Lady’ soprano Rita Dimech sang Ave Maria in Victory Square. This was followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
The procession concluded with the Solemn Entry of the crowned statue of Our Lady into the Basilica.
Last Monday also marked the fortieth anniversary of the coronation of the statue of Our Lady of Victories.

I have to say, that being my first festa here in Xaghra, it was one of the the most moving experiences of my life.
