The rankings of the three local landmarks nominated by the Malta Tourism Authority for VirtualTourist.com’s quest to crown the ‘8th Wonder of the World’ have now been updated with less than two weeks to go before the end of the competition.
The three nominations are the Azure Window in Gozo, the Blue Lagoon in Comino and St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, Malta.
The Azure Window is still in the top 50 out of 350 nominations. The Blue Lagoon is currently in the top 150 out of 350 nominations. St. John’s Co-Cathedral is leading the three local entrants, being in the top 25 out of 350 nominations.
Public voting is open at VirtualTourist.com, a leading travel research website that is part of the TripAdvisor Media Group. The winners will be announced in October.
Please help boost the voting for the Maltese entries. Voting can be carried out for all 3 monuments once a day until until the 30th of September 2013 on http://www.virtualtourist.com/8thwonder.
With numerous Tourism Boards, Chambers of Commerce and Visitor Bureaus sending in a nomination, the public is asked to vote for their favourite landmark out of the more than 200 submissions.
The wonder with the most votes will be crowned the winner. The winner will receive exposure through a massive media relations campaign push from VirtualTourist.
