In a statement this morning the Malta – EU Steering & Action Committee, referring to a report yesterday by the Nationalist Party media, denied that it will be stopping its services in Gozo. .

MEUSAC said that this was confirmed, according to the same report, by the President of the Regional Committee for Gozo and the Gozo Business Chamber, as well as the Chief Executive of Gozo Tourism Association and the President of the Association of Gozo, saying that they had only been informed about a move of office for MEUSAC.

“Had contact been made with MEUSAC to clarify the situation, the media would have been given a clear answer that the service in Gozo will not stop,” the statement said.

MEUSAC said that on the 21st of October, its officials have a series of meetings with the Gozo Business Chamber, the Gozo Tourism Association and the Gozo Regional Committee to discuss with them how MEUSAC can improve and enhance the services it offers to the island.

The head of MEUSAC will, on the same day, meet with the Minister for Gozo to discuss with him how to increase collaboration between MEUSAC and the Ministry for the benefit of local councils, civil society, NGOs and the island of Gozo

MEUSAC concluded by saying that it will ensure that the move of the joint office for MCESD and MEUSAC will not in any way affect the services that MEUSAC offers local councils, civil society and NGOs in Gozo.
