The Maltex Philatelic Exhibition, Malta’s annual major stamp and postal history event, is this year being organised by the Malta Philatelic Society at The Green Lounge, Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana.

This year’s slogan is ‘The Post – Yesterday and Today.’ In this fourteenth edition, members of the Society will display Traditional Stamps, unique items of Postal History, Old Maltese Postcards and Thematic Collections.

The official inauguration ceremony will be held at 6.00pm on Thursday, the 17th of October, by Judge Giovanni Bonello KOM, KM, LL.D, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights.

As in previous editions, this year there will be four sections in which members will feature their exhibits, namely:

a. MALTA Traditional / Postal History

b. FOREIGN Traditional / Postal History

c. THEMATIC Collections / One Frame Exhibit

d. YOUTH SECTION Under 16 years

Participation in the Exhibition is open to members of the Malta Philatelic Society.

All Exhibitors will be presented with a Diploma of Participation. A complimentary Stock Book, kindly donated by Messrs. Sliema Stamp Shop, will be presented to all youths exhibiting.

The XIV Maltex 2013 Philatelic Exhibition will then be open to the general public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 18th, 19th and 20th of October.

Opening Hours:

Friday, 18th October: 9.00am ~ 6.00pm

Saturday, 19th October: 9.00am ~ 6.00 pm

Sunday, 20th October: 9.00am ~ 12.00 pm

Maltapost will be rendering postal services at their Temporary Post Office set up at the Exhibition, whilst well known foreign and local philatelic dealers will offer professional advice and free valuations.

Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge.
