Malta will soon play host to around one thousand choristers from around Europe, Russia, Indonesia, Israel and China. All these people share a common passion; that of singing and will be in Malta to participate in the 5th edition of the Malta International Choirs’ Festival.

The Ministry for Tourism, the Malta Tourism Authority together with the German Organisation Interkultur organise this festival which is held in Malta every two years.

The Festival includes competitions and friendship concerts by different categories including: mixed/female/male choirs, children and youth choirs, choirs specialising in sacred music, folklore and popular choral music.

On Sunday morning, the participating choirs will animate mass in different churches in Malta. Results will be notified during a special ceremony on Sunday evening.

Gozo choir, Schola Cantorum Jubilate, will take part in this year’s edition and will participate in the Sacred Music Competition. Currently the choir is busily preparing for this event which will mark another important experience.

Schola Cantorum Jubilate will perform on Saturday, the 2nd of November at St. Publius Church in Floriana in front of the jury. Then on Sunday, the 3rd of November, the choir will animate mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Sliema.

Moreover, the choir will have private sessions with professional musicians in coaching.
