Update: A Free Travel to Gozo weekend taking place on the 15th, 16th and 17th of November, with free Gozo Channel trips for passengers and vehicles, (excluding commercial vehicles), between Friday, the 15th at 7.15pm and Monday, the 18th at 01.30am.

The weekend is aimed at boosting the Gozitan economy during the off-peak season and to promote all that is Gozitan.

There will be a weekend of entertainment mainly based in Victoria, with various sports activities taking place at the Gozo Stadium, as well as football pitches around Gozo.

On the Friday evening in Independence Square starting from 8.00pm there will be a dance spectacular, featuring no less than 6 dance groups: Alegria Academia, Power House, Centre Stage, Incite Motion, Yada and the Dance Workshop.

Then on Satuday evening from 9.00pm, in Independence Square, the musical entertainment will be provided by The Travellers and Ira and Band. Starting at midnight in St George’s Square the music continues with Novel, followed at 1.00am with Cash and Band.

For the children, on Sunday morning there will be traditional games at the Citadel, getting underway at 9.00am.

On Sunday afternoon, starting at 2.00pm, the Oratorju Don Bosco in Victoria will be putting on a perfomance of ‘Dun Gorg il-Musical.’

Other activities during the weekend include the Gozo Adventure Festival V2, St Matrin’s Festival of Traditions and a Classic & Military Vehicles Show with the Battlefront Living History Group.

A weekend packed full of events is promised, “so make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to visit Gozo, for free and enjoy a break on the sister island.”

The weekend is being organised by VisitGozo, the Gozo Cultural Office within the Ministry from Gozo, The Ministry for Gozo, Gozo Channel and the Gozo Football Association.

Many local companies are taking part in the weekend by offering special rates.
