A 76-year old man from Victoria is in danger of losing his life, following what the Police said, was probably a fall from a height at a residence in Sannat earlier this morning.
The incident happened in a property at Triq ta’ Saguna, Sannat. The police were called to the residence at about 10.00am, by an Englishwoman, 58, who rented the house from the victim..
The woman reported that she found the elderly man lying unconscious on the floor upon entering the residence.
The Police said that a metal ladder was found against a wall next to the spot where the victim was found, indicating that the elderly man possibly fell as he was climbing onto, or down from, the roof.
The victim, was taken to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance, was certified to be in a critical condition.
Investigations are still underway while several experts have been appointed to assist with a magisterial inquiry.

This is lovely family. My wife was the English woman who found him injured, and has only praise for the emergency medical services and the police who responded so effectively. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, for his swift recovery.
