The recent Free Travel to Gozo Weekend, has been hailed a success by the GRTU, who said that a good number of its members with establishments in Gozo reported “very good business over the weekend.”
The Union said that establishments offering accommodation, especially hotels, as well as restaurants and other tourist services in Gozo, experienced strong demand from the thousands of Maltese who took the opportunity of free travel between the two islands.
The GRTU thanked the Ministry for Gozo, who organised the initiative, at a time of the year that is usually slow for domestic tourism. The Union also gave its thanks to Gozo Channel and the Police.
The Union commended the various activities that were organised in Gozo during the three days, including concerts, cultural tours and sporting events.
