Serving the community is one of the police’s primary duties and it is with that in mind that the Malta Police Force said it will continue to assist those in need by hosting an event to collect donations in aid of the Strina Campaign.

Headed by the Office of the President of Malta, the aim of the campaign is to collect funds in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, which subsequently distributes them among volontary organisations who aid those in need.

Therefore, following the participation in the President’s Fund Run, the Piggy Bank Campaign and the Santa’s Swim, the Police Force will now be holding ‘Pulizija ghall-Istrina’ a half-day of activities for all the family to continue lending a hand with this noble cause.

This will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013, between 10.00am and 2.00pm, at Saint George’s Square, Valletta.

The activities will kick-off with a parade by the Malta Police Band from City Gate to the square, where, together with the Pipe Band, it will play a repertoire of music associated with the festive period.

Members of the Precision Drill Team will also be present to show-off their well-polished skills.

Vehicles used by the police force will meanwhile be on static display, including those from the Rapid Intervention Unit and Traffic Section.

Horses and dogs from the Mounted and Dogs Sections respectively and a Segway patrolling officer will also be present.

Refreshments will be available throughout the event.
