The General Workers’ Union said in a statement today that it is confident that the revised Maltese citizenship scheme will be beneficial for the country, in particular, for workers and their families .

The GWU added that it was satisfied that monies raised will be put to a national fund for economic and social development which will be conducted by a Board of trustees.

“Among its objectives, the scheme will provide job creation and the reduction of precarious working conditions, goals that the GWU welcomes,” the Union concluded.
