In light of recent news of the public transport operator Arriva terminating its operation the Gozo University Group (GUG) said that it “calls on the Government to remain conscious on the current commendable service offered by the operator in Gozo and urges that the same level of performance should be ensured by the new operator.”

“On the other hand,” GUG stressed “the need for improvement with regards to the route between Cirkewwa and Msida. The new public transport operator should also be aware the need of such improvement and strive to achieve it.”

GUG concluded by saying that it “further encourages the Government to consider the possibility of a Gozitan entity being responsible for the public transport service in Gozo.”
