Our Lady of Victory Church is currently undergoing a complete restoration by Din l-Art Helwa and can now offer visitors a unique cultural experience. An interactive information kiosk with touchscreen technology allows visitors easy access to colourful information on the unique history of the first building of the capital city and its art treasures.

This is one of a series of communication vehicles including a pocket guide book to the church, audio guides in six languages, pamphlets with a quick guided tour of the church and display equipment that will add value to the numerous works of art and religious ephemera found in the church.

The restoration work is being carried out with the help of the Vodafone Malta Foundation.

The interactive Kiosk, programmed by Cyberspace Ltd, was unveiled by Ms Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, Chairperson of the Vodafone Malta Foundation and blessed by Rector Mon. Anton Galea. Also in attendance were H.E. Rob Luke, High Commissioner of the UK to Malta, Ms Simone Mizzi, Executive President of Din L-Art Helwa as well as members of the Council.

Ms Simone Mizzi thanked the Vodafone Malta Foundation for making this possible. “The trust and funds made available by the Vodafone Malta Foundation helped Din l-Art Helwa acquire the technological tools required to illustrate and explain the restoration of the artistic and historical gem, the Victory Church in Valletta.”

Ms Gemma Mifsud Bonnici on unveiling the kiosk noted that “this technology made possible the appreciation of a cultural gem ensuring it is done in quiet thus not detracting from the sanctity of the place and without interrupting church services.”
