The Federation for Hunting & Conservation – Malta (FKNK) has said in a statement today that, “no-one is above the law and no-one should thus be permitted to publicly write libellous comments illegally about anybody without being brought to justice.”

“BirdLife Malta (BLM) who may expect immunity in this sense, have taken offence that the FKNK has lodged complaints with the police regarding defamatory comments about the FKNK,” the hunters’ federation said.

Reacting to a statement issued by BLM, the FKNK said that it had in fact lodged the reports in May 2012, soon after the actual publishing of the comments, and not during the period stated by BirdLife Malta.

“No-one is above the Law, including BirdLife Malta and its followers,” The FKNK concluded.
