The Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) in conjunction with Malta Public Transport and Transport Malta have announced the launch of the KSU Transport Fund, a €5,000 trust aimed at encouraging the use of alternative methods of transport to and from campus.

The Transport Fund will be promoting and incentivising the use of public transport and other alternatives to car use among the university population, in a bid to reduce the congestion and parking problems that continue to plague the University of Malta.

The Transport Fund will give students who have a parking permit with KSU the possibility to benefit from a 50% reduction on a 90-day student bus ticket. This is being done to promote and incentivize driving students to use public transport to travel to university instead of driving to campus.

The offer effectively means that the students will have the possibility of using the bus for a whole semester at the price of one month.

The process is easy. As of next Monday, the 24th of March students can:

– fill in personal details and car registration number (of the car used to come to university)

– print the confirmation email received from the website

– present the printed confirmation and your driving license at the Malta Public Transport Booth at the Campus Terminus

– Buy a 3 month bus pass at HALF the price and start using the bus right away!
