The next fixtures being played at the Gozo Stadium for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, will be held on Monday, the 12th of May, with two matches that are sure to be exciting and pull in large crowds.

From Group A: England will play Turkey with an 11.15am kick.off, then in the afternoon, still from Group A: the home team Malta will play the Netherlands with a 3.15pm kick.off.

This has been the first ever appearance for Malta in the Finals of a European Youth Championship and have earned this right by hosting these Finals.

Born in Argentina on 29 November 1960, Malta Coach, Sergio Soldano was granted Italian citizenship in 1985. He holds an UEFA A coaching badge. He was coach in the youth sector of several sports entities, gaining experience in the categories of football schools, beginners, youngsters, and juniors. He held various positions as coach, technical director and observer in Italy. Sergio Soldano is also co-author of the publication ‘Crescere Giocando’ (Growing through Playing).

He was appointed Director of the Malta Football Association Football Academy in January 2012.
