The Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muscat, said this afternoon that the outcome is better than expected and it is a “humbling vote of confidence and courage, thank you.”

Election results are a "humbling vote of confidence and courage" - PMThe indications are pointing to a majority over the Nationalist Party of over 30,000 (around 53%). The PN won 40%, AD 3.5% and others 3.5%.

Dr Muscat went on to say that, “we will stay humble.Our success won’t go to our heads.We will stay close to the people.”

“My message to the people who did not vote or who voted for smaller parties: we will keep on hearing them,” the Prime Minister said.

Labour supporters are celebrating the election victory, with carcades taking place across both islands.
