At the moment at the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Ta’ Pinu, the last preparations are taking place for this evening making the 24th anniversary of Saint John Paul II visit to Gozo, which took place on Saturday 26th May 1990.

A reminder that to commemorate the 24th anniversary, the JP2 Foundation, in full collaboration with Ta’ Pinu National Sanctuary, are holding a Religious- Cultural Evening at the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Ta’ Pinu this evening.

A large original painting of Saint John Paul II by local artist Denis Mompalao, was put inside the Basilica, accompanying this painting is an original Skullcap of the Saint.

The programme for the evening will be as follows:

6.00pm – Rosary with Pope John Paul II

6.30pm – Thanks Giving Mass

7.00pm – Organ and Trumpet Recital by Amy Rapa and Jason Camilleri

The repertoire selected for this concert are pieces by Henry Purcell, J.S. Bach, Bach – Gouno, Franck, E Marricone, P Mascagni, John J. Morrissey, Mozart, T. Albinon and John Stanley.

The General Public is warmly invited to attend.
