Dr Justyne Caruana visits Loreta Curmi, the oldest person in Gozo

The Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing Dr. Justyne Caruana, this morning visited the oldest person in Gozo, Loreta Curmi from Nadur, who on the 11th of June, celebrated her 102nd birthday.
Loreta was an early member of the MUSEUM Society, and she is also the first member who has reached more than 100 year of age.
During this short, but sweet visit, Loreta and Dr. Caruana talked about Loreta’s past years and all the hard work she had endured when she was young. Loreta conversed in both English and Maltese during her conversation with the Parliamentary Secretary
Dr. Caruana expressed her best wishes to Loreta and also thanked her nephews, “who look after her with such great care.”
She reiterated her appeal to everyone that “we have both a legal and moral obligation to take care of our elderly family members.”
Dr. Justyne Caruana was accompanied on the visit by Head of Staff Mr. Johnny Zerafa.
