A 67-year old man has died after finding himself in difficulty during a dive in the area of ix-Xatt l-Ahmar, Ghajnsielem, Gozo, on Friday evening.
The Police said that they were called to the location at around 6.15pm after being informed that a man was in difficulties.
The diver, a German national, had been brought ashore by people who were in the area. Assistance was provided by a medical team, but the man was declared dead at the scene.
A Magisterial inquiry is underway.
Police investigations are ongoing.
