The Gozo Youth Council (GYC) said that it welcomes the news by the Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muscat that, funds have now been allocated for a feasibility study for a fiber optic link between Malta and Gozo.
The GYC said that it also welcomes the news of having one main MCAST Centre rather than 2 separate ones, “as the proposal shows a more holistic approach regarding education in Gozo.”
Nonetheless, GYC added that it “encourages more investment in this sector, especially with regards the campus of the University of Malta in Gozo.”
The council also highlights the initiatives of the NSO office in Gozo and the e-Residence unit as such offices strengthen the regional aspect of Gozo.
In conclusion the Gozo Youth Council said that although good and necessary measures are being taken, “Gozo still lacks a holistic plan backed with a vision.”
