The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel at Ta’ Hamet, Xewkija

The programme of Religious Festivities have been announced in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which is celebrated in the church dedicated to her honour at Ta’ Hamet, in Xewkija, between Saturday, the 12th and Wednesday, the 16th of July, 2014.
Saturday 12th July 2014: Commemoration of the third Marian apparition at Fatima.
From 5.30pm: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.
6.30pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
7.00pm: Solemn Mass with homily led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Cini (Xaghra). Afterwards, there will be a procession with the Diocesan statue of Our Lady of Fatima along the streets around the church. During the procession, the Rosary will be recited and Marian hymns will be sung.
As the procession enters back into the church, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
8.30pm: Mass led by Mgr Rosario Borg which starts a night of Eucharist Adoration in the chapel, ending at midnight with the celebration of Holy Mass.
Sunday 13th July 2014: First day of Solemn Triduum.
9.30am: Mass with homily.
From 5.00pm onwards: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.
7.00pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
7.30pm: Solemn Mass with homily led by Mgr Carmelo Hili, Rector of the church. Afterwards, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
Monday 14th July 2014: Second day of Solemn Triduum.
From 5.30pm onwards: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.
6.30pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
7.00pm: Solemn Mass with homily led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Cini (Xaghra). Afterwards, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
Tuesday 15th July 2014: Third day of Solemn Triduum and Eve of the Feast day.
From 5.30pm onwards: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.
6.30pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
7.00pm: Solemn Mass with homily led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Cini (Xaghra). Afterwards, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
Wednesday 16th July 2014: Liturgical Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
6.00am: Mass with homily led by Rev. Mgr Carmelo Hili, Rector of the Church.
The church will be open all day long for the benefit of the general public.
From 5.30pm onwards: Eucharistic Adoration animated by members of the Catholic Action Group.
7.00pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
7.30pm: Solemn High Mass led by H.L. Bishop Mario Grech. Mass will be animated by the Voci Angeliche Choir of Xaghra Parish Church. The choir will be directed by Mrs. Grace Vella and accompanied by organist Mro. Ivan Attard A.MusTCL.
After mass, there will be a procession with the titular statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel along the main streets around the church. During the procession, the Rosary will be recited and Marian hymns will be sung.
As the procession enters back in church, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted, bringing these festivities to an end.
During the days of Triduum, the Liturgy will be animated by organist Mro. Ivan Attard.
The Rector of the Church, Mgr Carmelo Hili, invites everyone to visit the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel during the feast days between 12th and 16th of July 2014.
