For the closing concert of the 17th edition of the Victoria International Arts Festival, Joseph Vella conducts the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in a choral and orchestral concert featuring works from the Classical Period by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
The soloist for the Haydn cello concerto is Simon Veis.
The Programme for the evening is as follows:
Mozart Overture from Don Giovanni
Haydn Cello Concerto no 2 in D major Hob VIIb/2, op 101 soloist – Simon Veis
Beethoven Symphony no 7 in A major op 92.
Featuring: Šimon Veis (violoncello) /Laudate Pueri Choir – St George’s Basilica (director: George Joseph Frendo) /Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (leader: Marcelline Agius) /Joseph Vella (conductor) – Malta/Czech Republic (St George’s Basilica).
The concert will take place on Monday, the 14th of July, at St George’s Basilica, starting at 8.00pm, patrons are kindly requested to be seated 15 minutes before hand.
