‘Opera vs Pop Under the Stars’ at the Gozo Ministry’s courtyard

The Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra, in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo and the American Embassy, will be presenting Opera vs Pop Under the Stars – 7th Edition at the Gozo Ministry’s courtyard in Victoria.
The concert will feature Maltese-American soprano Pamela Agius, who was born in Ghansielem and now lives in New York., bass Noel Galea and pop singer Ludwig Galea, together with Gozitan and Maltese singers and musicians.
The Orchestra will be under the direction of Founder and Music Director Mro Joseph Grech.
The first part of the programme will consist of classical and operatic songs and arias, followed in the second part by a variety of lighter pop arrangements from soundtracks of well-known films and musicals
‘Opera vs Pop Under The Stars,’ is being performed on Monday, the 28th of July at 8.15pm. Patrons are kindly requested to be seated 15 minutes prior to the start.
The concert will be hosted by the Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo and the Ambassador for the United States of America, H.E. Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley.
There are a limited number of VIP Gold tickets for sale at €25, which include comfortable seating in the front rows and a pre-concert cocktail reception. Normal seats costs are €15.
The Orchestra consists mainly of 50 Gozitan Youths who after having pursued their musical studies both in Gozo and Malta on an individual basis, meet regularly in group to prepare an exciting and varied repertoire to be performed later on in concerts throughout the year.
