Over the past three days Armed Forces of Malta personnel stationed at the Rescue and Coordination Centre in Luqa as well as those deployed on air and sea assets have been incessantly working with their Italian counterparts to save lives at sea.
Since Thursday the AFM Operations Centre coordinated 4 SAR cases with a total of 1062 migrants saved thanks to the coordination between Malta and Italy. During this period Italian Forces have also rescued an additional 4000 migrants.
Last night RCC Malta was coordinating a case involving the rescue of a boat with about 400 migrants by a merchant vessel assisted also by the Italian Coast Guard.
Ir said that “on closer inspection of the migrant vessel following the transfer, it transpired that a number of migrants were found dead in the vessel’s hold, possibly due to a stampede.”
The AFM Offshore Patrol Vessel P61 is in the area and the operation is currently on the way.

Why does it appear that none of this invasion force is landing on Malta? Does someone in government know something its people doesn’t? Or, are we receiving hordes of illegal immigrants and the facts are not being reported? Something smells fishy to me.
Or is it simply that those rescued are being put on other ships and taken elsewhere, as the article implies?
