Louis Debattista has just finished day two of his charity fund raising cycle ride for the Gozo CCU Foundation.
Louis left from Harpenden, Luton, in the UK and his route will take him through Holland, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and then on to his destination to Lake Como in Italy, where he is due to arrive on the 5th of August, cycling a total of around 1,420Km.
His first day was tough, 154km with rolling hills and a lot of headwind. Louis said that he enjoyed the country roads, beautiful scenery, and not much traffic. Early on Friday morning Louis arrived in Holland after an overnight ferry trip, as you can see from the photo he was very pleased to have made it on time for the ferry from the UK!
Friday was easier, Louis said, with flat terrain and only 142 km!
Louis said “please, especially people living in Gozo, help this worthy cause, and you can do so by sending a donation in the form of a cheque made out to ‘The CCU Foundation,’ which can be sent to Louis Debattista at, “The Dusty house” Triq Ta Cini, Qala Gozo QLA-2020, or email me Louismalti@aol.com or call me on 99609845. We need to look out for ourselves and what our country needs.”
Louis is hoping some locals will contribute, so far only 3 donations have come from Gozo, which includes an American family, however 55 Maltese have donated.
The Foundation’s next project is to raise funds to purchase 2 ventilators for the CCU ward to add to the 2 that have already been donated by the Foundation.
