The annual, traditional agricultural exhibition, known locally as Il-Wirja ta’ Santa Marija, is taking place next week on Thursday and Friday, the 14th and 15th of August, at the Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria.

The Agrarian Show is organised by the Agrarian, Industrial and Cultural Society of Gozo and it has been taking place in Gozo since 1855.

The Villa Rundle exhibition, hosts more than 5,000 exhibits which include produce, livestock, poultry, vegetables and song birds. In 2013 it attracted 158 participants.

There will also be local produce, artisan work and crafts, locally produced wines, oil and honey on display.

This is a 2-day show for all ages and all tastes, with family entertainment related to traditional folklore.

Exhibits are in separate categories and prizes are awarded to the best exhibit in each of these categories.

The Exhibition will be open as follows: Thursday 5.00pm-11.00pm and Friday 7.00am-1.00pm.
