President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca pays an official visit to Comino

Following her commitments in Gozo on Sunday, the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and Mr Preca made an official visit to Comino.
The President travelled to Saint Nicholas Bay on the Armed Forces of Malta Patrol Boat P22, and was given a warm welcome by those present.
President Coleiro Preca and her husband met the management and employees of the Comino Hotel. Later the President visited the only four residents on Comino.
The President visited the home of Maria Buttigieg, and along with Evangelista Buttigieg, brothers Angelo and Salvatore Vella, the President discussed and shared with a number of thoughts.
Salvatore Vella explained how he felt honoured that for the first time in history, the Head of State had visited the residents of Comino.
The President’s visit to the island concluded at the Santa Marija Tower, where she was welcomed by the Din l-Art Helwa volunteers, which is the NGO responsible for protecting this historic tower in Comino.
President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca thanked Din l-Art Helwa for carrying out such sterling work towards the protection of this heritage site, which is an attraction for all those who are visiting the island of Comino.
