In an aim to increase visibility of the queue of vehicles waiting to board the Gozo Channel ferries at Mgarr Harbour, the Ministry for Gozo has installed a number of cameras along parts of Mgarr Road, which are providing live ferry queue streaming.
These cameras are accessible online via the Ministry’s Tourism Portal. The Ministry said that this will help commuters to make informed decisions as to when best to queue for their trip back to Malta by viewing real time images of the line waits.
It is hoped that this will help to “minimise waiting time and enhance customer service especially during periods of heavy traffic between the islands such as long weekends, mid-August holiday period, Carnival, Easter etc.”

There are just too many cars and other vehicles that have to be dealth with first. This is dangerous to everyone health. Its getting to a point where villages and beaches are looking like parking lots.
Oh good.
Motorists will be able to look at their i-pads while driving to the ferry.
A step in the right direction for road safety, there.
What a excellent idea, now people will be able to see if there is a need to leave there homes a little early in case there are large queue’s waiting to board the ferry. All we need is the same close circuit TV on the other side at Cirkewwa so that those that live in mainland Malta can benefit from the first class Ferry Service that Gozo Ferries provide
I am looking forward to the web cams working properly.I think they should seek some help from skyline web cams who do a brilliant job.well worth a look.
I believe an iPad needs Adobe Flash to down load the web cam which is not an option on this device. Drivers won’t be able to access the pad whilst driving to check the queue. What a shame. Criticism is always acceptable but let it be constructive.
Since when is it a step in the right direction to look at your i-pad while driving to the ferry Mr. Barker.
