A festival of Gozitan traditional food has been taking place over the weekend, organised by the Xaghra Local Council
A seminar held on Saturday morning looked at the cultivation of fig trees and the prevention of diseases related to fig trees, with interventions by various local and foreign expert speakers.
There was a traditional dinner in Victory Square on Saturday evening with the participation of local popular musician George Curmi ‘Il-Puse.” Local comic actors ‘Gorg u Pawlu’ presented the evening’s entertainment.
Then this morning in Victory Square, visitors to Xaghra were able to enjoy a traditional festival of local food and crafts, with various food stalls and local crafts, reenactments, together with horse carriage and pony rides
There was entertainment provided by among others, of the Xaghra Victory Band, Ghaqda Foklor Xaghri, Ta’ Verna Folk Group and the Aurora Folk Group.
This festival was made possible through Measure 413.6 of the Leader Programme.
