As part of the celebrations making the Canonisation of Saint John Paul II, and the Silver Jubilee of the Pontiff’s visit to the Maltese Islands in 1990, The Xlendi Administration Committee together with the JP2 Foundation and the Rector of the Xlendi Church, will be presenting an evening of Poetry and Music.

The evening will host local poets as well as a trumpet and organ recital while the Youth Academy will animate the evening.

In 1999, Pope John Paul II wrote a letter to artists, in which he said, “Not all are called to be artists in the specific sense of the term. Yet, as Genesis has it, all men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life: in a certain sense, they are to make of it a work of art, a masterpiece.”

The Poetry and Music event will take place this coming Sunday, the 5th of October, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Xlendi Gozo, starting at 5.45pm. (as soon as the Church Service will finish).

The General Public is invited to attend this special evening.
