Home-start Ghawdex are organising a free seminar at Dar Guzeppa Debono, Ghajnsielem. The seminar will include a presentation by Mr Julian Xuereb, Family Coach and Consultant, entitled “Core Temperament Essentials” and other presentations by Home-Start staff and volunteers explaining the role of Home-Start in the community.

Mr Xuereb will be giving an overview of core temperaments which is a tool used to gain better understanding of the needs, fears and values of the people/children around us.

Home-Start Ghawdex is charitable organisation that assists Gozitan families struggling to bring up young children.

Home-Start offers volunteer-based, parent-to-parent support to persons raising at least one child under the age of five. The service is unique to Gozo, aiming to support parents by offering practical help, a listening ear and advice.

“Families who may benefit from the service may be feeling isolated or lacking support, may have experienced multiple births such as twins or triplets, may be facing illness or death in the family, or may feel they are going through a particularly difficult time.”

Home-Start Ghawdex is a service within Dar Guzeppa Debono and funded by the Ministry for Gozo. It is part of the international network of Home-Start schemes, mainly based in the UK.

The Seminar is taking place on Friday, the 24th of October, between 9.30am and 1.0pm.

Please contact Nancy Portelli (homestartgozo@gmail.com) to reserve a place.
