The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo has said that Gozitan students pursuing full-time education in Malta will receive a subsidy of €400 which will be paid quarterly, directly into their bank account.
This will be the case for Gozitan students, who are ordinarily resident in Gozo, and pursuing a full-time course at the University of Malta, MCAST or the Institute for Tourism Studies in Malta.
Dr Refalo said that from this academic year students will start receiving this subsidy directly into their bank account instead of by cheque mailed to the respective residence. “This confirms that the Government cares about the interests of students and clearly demonstrates that it will continue to do everything possible to assist them in their studies,” he added.
The Minister was addressing a meeting which took place with the newly elected Council of the Gozo University Group (GUG).
During this meeting the Minister augured well for the hard work that the Council carries out for Gozitan students and wished success for the students during their future studies.
