As part of the activities taking place for the 2014 edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), between the 22nd and 30th of November, Louis Debattista of the Gozo Greyhounds is organising a Gozo-Rocks clean-up hike.

The hike is planned for next Saturday, the 29th of November, starting at 1.00pm from Ghajnsielem Cemetery, from there the route will go to the Heliport in Xewkija, then on to Gnien ta’ Blankas, a 2.5 ha olive grove in Xewkija, and from there a country path back to the Civic Amenity Site in Xewkija, where workers will explain where the rubbish is to be deposited.

Louis said that he will be giving each child a Certificate for taking part in the clean-up event as part of the ‘European Week for Waste Reduction.’

He added that he would like to encourage as many people as possible to take part, parents, children, in fact all the family of any age. Please take along water and wear comfortable shoes, gloves and bags will be provided.
